Charging to Full
“Charging to full” are the words on the Apple watch under the charging level indicator. I'm on a flight and my battery level indicator just hit 92% and the colors now show green, which means good. I actually feel relief. I was ansy when it was red and yellow. Maybe not ansy, but I feel better now, like when you fill up your gas tank. How funny. How silly. It's going to get depleted again. Tomorrow. Was I ansy because I was wearing it when it was down to 1% and was on the verge of shutting down? So what?It's a watch, calm down. It's a device, I'm still alive, why would there be any reaction at all?! On the scale of problems in the world this is definitely on the low priority scale. Interesting where my thoughts went.
I have similar feeling when my laptop or phone are about to die, or are not fully up to date. Is it because I won't be able to use them. Is that what I'm worried about? Or just the standby potential?
What does this say about me and my priorities. Is this a consequence of a time with an abundance of technology. Because in my hand right now is a paperback book and there is 0 worry and 0% chance that it will malfunction or otherwise run out of energy. My battery watch or a mechanical watch you don't ever have this concern. So I traded “up” to have these periodic/daily worries. Interesting. Is it worth it? Maybe. It will also deplete as soon as I take it off its power. 100% of the time this will happen. Is this now a daily condition that I need to manage?
Maybe because I'm traveling and my standard outlets are not available and I'm not sure where I will get power. But power plugs are everywhere… so 0% chance I will not find a place to charge.
Also what is the worst that will happen? It dies, then I don't have use of my Apple watch? What about all our gdgets. What about this issue multiplied by the number of electronic gadgets, or an electric car? Just interesting where my mind went. So again, can I help this reaction? Probably. By using/relying on technology lesser, maybe. Should I? Maybe. Something I'll have to think on more.
Watch is up to 97% now....I'm golden then, right?!
